About Forgiveness...

"The moment that I let go of it, is the moment I got more than I could handle. The moment that I jumped off of it, is the moment that I touched down."~~ Thank U by Alanis Morissette

Some have told me, "You must forgive him." Others have said, "He doesn't deserve your forgiveness. This is unforgivable!"
For me, forgiveness is the only true option. In the 3 times that I have seen Bill since the attack he has always been in shackles. Heavy chains around his waist that are hooked to his arms and his legs. The proud and youthful man that I knew now stands hunched over looking as if the weight of the world lies on his shoulders. That is what hate does to you. It imprisons you and holds you. I am not immune to that any more than anyone else. I have set my mind and heart on freedom. One day the last link of the chains of anger that currently remain on this shattered heart of mine will fall away. I will be free to soar again. Every day another link or 2 fall away. I'm on my way...

Becky, I have just finished reading your story in the ABJ. I grew up in Akron but now live in Madison, AL. You are one strong courageous woman. Thank you for sharing your story with all of us. I have had to deal with obstacles in my life (health related) but nothing like you have had to endure. I commend you for your courage and strength.

Your doctors and nurses are also to be commended for all they have done. Looking at all of your pictures, you can tell that your plastic surgeon is worth his weight in gold. You may look different than you did before but you look beautiful now. I am sure that a lot of that is your spirit showing thru to the person that you are now.

I will keep you in my prayers that the rest of your recovery will go well. Enjoy your new grandchild when he/she arrives. That "little person" is so lucky to be coming into such a loving family!

Keep smiling and breaking those shackles!

God Bless,
Maria

Maria,
You are so right about the wonderful care that I have received by the nurses, doctors and therapists. My surgeon is my hero because he always treats patients with heart.
I just found out yesterday that "we" are expecting a little boy. What a blessing!!
God Bless,
Becky
